The Champion of the 2016 Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth – Marcos Siebert – won driving for Jenzer Motorsport: an important result for the Swiss team, who with the Argentinian driver was able to win three races (at Misano, Adria and Imola). Jenzer Motorsport also took two more victories when upon the series’ second visit to Imola, with the Dutch driver Job Van Uitert.

First place finishes aside, the excellent work performed by the Swiss team was also demonstrated by the high number of podiums achieved: 14 in total, including wins with their drivers Siebert and Van Uitert. A competitive performance that allowed Jenzer Motorsport to finish the 2016 season second in the Teams Standings, just 40 points off the title but 160 points ahead of the third placed team.

A great season therefore, that could have allowed them to take the Teams Championship if it were for a more consistent contribution, in terms of points gained, by the other drivers who also drove for Jenzer throughout 2016. It should also be noted that Jenzer Motorsport fielded more drivers than any, for example 7 drivers at Misano’s opening round.

Following, is the official viewpoint of the Swiss team regarding the season just concluded and the new season about to start.

1) What was your strongpoint of the 2016 season?
J.M. “We were able to count on fielding a very strong team of drivers and a team of highly technical and motivated staff”.

2) What are the points to work on to further improve next season?
J.M “You can always improve every single aspect. We are working hard to maintain our high level”.

3) What convinced you to join the Italian series last year, and return again this year?
J.M. “”We appreciate the organisation of the championship, the circuits and, well why not, the great Italian food!”
