Mucke Motorsport have captured another podium in the Team’s Championship, after finishing second in the 2015 title chase. They closed out the year by finishing in third place thanks to the 236 points gained complete with two victories; obtained in Race 1 and Race 4 at Adria with Maurizio Baiz behind the wheel. The team was characterized by the longest garage in pitlane in the Italian F4 Championship: the German team fielding no less than 5 drivers throughout the course of the year. Their names? Maurizio Baiz (who, however did change teams at the season’s end), Ye Yifei, Sebastian Fernandez (who started the season with another team), Devlin De Francesco and Aldo Festante.

Also worth noting, which is a testimony to the high level of the German team, was the speed displayed by the Chinese driver Ye Yifei, who took two fastest laps during the weekend at Adria, and the Venezuelan Fernandez, who took pole position and fastest lap in Race 3 at Monza.

Following is the official view of the German team regarding the year ended and their approach to the forthcoming season.

1) What were your strongest points of 2016?
M.M. “We have a long history supporting the growth of young drivers. We have had race for us, among others, Sebastian Vettel, Pascal Wehrlein, Sergio Perez, Robert Kubica, Sebastian Buemi and Christian Klein. In 2016, we made sure we provided a strong foundation to the young drivers who competed with us.”

2) What are the points to improve in the new season?
M.M. “We have already started our preparation, and we plan to be competitive from the very first race of the 2017 championship”.

3) What convinced you to join the Italian F4 Championship and what convinced you to return again this year?
M.M. “Our goal is to be better prepare drivers to race in Formula 3, which is another very important programme for our team. That’s why we consider the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth as essential participation that offers a high level of competitiveness and in turn, preparation”.
