In 2016 they lacked only a victory to crown an excellent and very positive year, the Bhaitech team, as they collected fifth place in the team's championship and, also taking second on the podium at both Mugello and Imola along with two fourth placings at the final round held at Monza.
• The podium at Imola was obtained by Lorenzo Colombo who has been confirmed with the team for 2017. The young Italian driver, it should be remembered, was one of the young drivers selected by the Supercorso Federale ACI (the project that is the Project Federale of ACI Sport, directly overseen by Raffaele Gianmaria and Giancarlo Minardi), and at the end of 2016 was confirmed as the best, in the category ‘Auto'. The team manager of Bhaitech, Mr Nicoḷ Gaglian, explained his reason behind keeping Colombo for another season. "Lorenzo is working hard with simulator and is in great form physically, and will get further attention from our physical trainers”. Colombo will race with Number 6.
• Number 7 meanwhile, will be driven by the Venezuelan driver Sebastian Fernandez, who was one of the leading drivers throughout 2016. He is a driver who grew stronger continually throughout year culminating with his Race 2 win at Monza which also followed him taking two pole positions and a fastest lap. Results that led to the Bhaitech manager making these comments; " The young driver has driven strong and hard throughout the year. We remain enthusiastic about his precise and clean style and his ability to push right to the limit. We have him for 2017 and have no doubt he can fight right for victory”.
• Beside Colombo and Fernandez will be the young driver making his debut in the number 11 car, Leonardo Lorandi, who arrives with a highly respectable CV obtained in karting. In the words of team manager Gaglian; "Leonardo is one of the young drivers who put his name in lights in karting. We have already put him to work in the simulator and the results are very promising”.
