In their third season of competing in the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, the DR Formula team came very close to achieving the ultimate result: the Mexican driver Raul Guzman was in contention for the title right up until the eve of the final race at Monza, fighting with Marcos Siebert and Mick Schumacher for the driver’s championship. In the end, he claimed third in the Driver’s standings thanks to three victories (Race 3 at Misano, Race 2 at Adria and Race 1 at Vallelunga), two second places and two third places along with other strong race finishes. DR Formula also claimed fourth place in the Team’s Championship.

DR Formula is also the team that fielded the winner of the Women’s Trophy: Fabienne Wohlwend, whose performances also improved significantly throughout the season. Demonstrated by the results produced by the driver from Liechtenstein, who finished 12th outright and 6th Rookie in Race 1 at Monza, and 11th outright and 8th Rookie in Race 3 at Monza.

Danilo Rossi, remember won 5 World Karting Championships, is the founder and owner of DR Racing Kart, the chassis and racing team that competes at the most prestigious level of competition in international karting, namely the CIK FIA European and World Championships and the WSK events.



1) What was the team’s strong points in 2016?
D.R.: “Definitely being a well organised team, with a great working relationship between our mechanics, engineers and drivers.”.

2) What are the points to work on to improve for the 2017 season?
D.R.: “We have now accumulated 3 years of experience in the Italian F4 Championship, we will work to improve every little detail in order to be as competitive as possible”.

3) What convinced you to join the Italian F4 Championship and to return again this year?
D.R.: “For many years I have been involved in karting and when the Italian F4 Championship was born, I immediately saw it is a great opportunity to continue on with young drivers coming from kart racing. The Italian F4 Championship is definitely the best category to continue this and it is my intention to continue on with this project that was started back in 2014”.
