The 38 young talents of the Italian F.4 Championship took to the track again at Mugello Circuit for the second free practice session that opens the fourth round of the season. Once again, the same protagonists from the first session topped the timesheets: Sebastian Wheldon of Prema Racing and Emanuele Olivieri of R-ace GP. The best time was again set by the American racing under the Andretti Global banner, with a 1’49.135. The Italian driver closed the gap even further, this time with an almost negligible difference of just 0.024 seconds.

Third place went to Van Amersfoort Racing’s Maksimilian Popov, who was also very close in time to the leader, trailing by only 0.095 seconds.

Mercedes junior driver Alex Powell of R-ace GP continued to stay near the front, finishing the second session in fourth with a gap of 0.204.

Right behind him was Alpine Academy driver Kabir Anurag of US Racing, 0.

315 off the top.

Sixth place in free practice went to Enea Frey, the Swiss driver for Jenzer Motorsport, with a gap of 0.477.

Next came Serbian US Racing driver Andrija Kostic at 0.594.

German driver Maxim Rehm, also representing the Kerpen-based team, completed the second free practice session in eighth place with a 0.621 gap, ahead of Australian Dante Vinci of Van Amersfoort Racing in ninth at 0.632, and Colombian Salim Hanna of Prema Racing, who was tenth at 0.666 and once again the fastest among the Rookies.

Later today, Friday 11 July, qualifying will be held across two 15-minute sessions. The first session, setting the grid for Race 1, will begin at 4:45PM; the second, which determines the Race 2 grid, is scheduled for 5:10PM. The starting grid for Race 3 will be based on the drivers’ second-best lap times from either session.

The races, each lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will begin on Saturday, 12 July, with Race 1 at 11:10AM and Race 2 at 6:10PM.

Race 3 is set for Sunday, 13 July at 10:40AM.

All races will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV (Sky channel 288 and TivùSat channel 52) and streamed on www.live.acisport.tv, as well as on the ACI Sport TV YouTube and Facebook pages. The races will also be available with English commentary through the international television network broadcasting the Italian F.4 Championship and via the championship’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
